I am a qualified, professionally trained integrative counsellor. My integrative approach is person-centred at its core and I incorporate humanistic, psychodynamic, existentialist, and CBT theories and techniques depending on your particular issues, experiences, and preferences. I also provide EMDR therapy which can be highly effective for treating trauma and PTSD, as well as anxiety and other emotional distress.
I can use creative techniques to help you explore your unconscious mind. Additionally, I bring in mindfulness and grounding skills to help you manage your strong emotions.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I am bound by their ethical framework for good practice in counselling, upon which our work together will be based.
I am also a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
Additionally, I hold an Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO) Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling. My training includes working with suicide and self-harm, safeguarding, trauma, dissociation and somatisation, minority stress theory, sand tray therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy.
I welcome any questions about my experience, training, and therapeutic approach.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate and full professional indemnity insurance.
The frequency of the sessions will be weekly (although in certain cases we can meet fortnightly). Each session will last for 50 minutes.
The number of counselling sessions will depend on the type of difficulty or problem you are facing. But essentially it is up to you as I offer open-ended sessions. We can agree this together.
I usually work face-to-face and so normally sessions will take place in my counselling room. However I offer online sessions where travel or mobility is difficult.
My fees are £65 for a 50 minute session. EMDR therapy sessions are between 75 to 90 minutes, and fees range from £75 to £90 per session.
I review my fees every year in April.
Payment is due immediately at the end of each session.
I ask for a minimum of 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Cancellations of less than 48 hours will be charged in full.
As your counsellor, my role is to assist you in achieving your therapeutic goals. I am dedicated to fostering an environment in which you can freely express yourself, confront challenges, and work towards your well-being.
